TOEFL Fees & Scores

TOEFL iBT provides five scores: four sections scores for TOEFL reading, TOEFL listening, TOEFL writing, TOEFL speaking and a total score. Each section is on a 0-30 scale. The total score is the sum of the four section scores. The range of total scores could be anywhere from 0-120. It is valid for two years.

You may take the TOEFL iBT test only once in any seven-day period, even if you took the test and canceled your scores.

The normal fee to take the TOEFL test is $110. However, it varies based on country. To register for your test, please visit www.ets.org/toefl. Below is a schedule of representative fees. If you cancel your registration by the deadline, you will receive a refund equivalent to half of the original test fee.

In evaluating your performance on TOEFL iBT, it is useful to compare your score with those of other students from your native country and with those of students who speak the same language as you. However, the data in the following tables do not take in account varying similarities or differences between English and other languages. They are simply based on the performance of examinees native to specific countries.
