Judge MBA Admissions Tips (Cambridge)

Interviews

Short-listed candidates are invited to an interview day at Judge. In exceptional circumstances (for example if it is difficult to get a visa at short notice to visit the UK) the admissions board is sometimes able to offer interviews the candidate’s own country or occasionally by telephone. However, it is strongly preferred that candidates visit Cambridge, as each interview day comprises a full program of selection and information events, including:

  • a group Q&A session with admissions, careers and other key staff
  • an individual interview with faculty members
  • provision of information about funding your MBA
  • a tour of the facilities at Judge Business School
  • an opportunity to sit in on an MBA class where possible
  • coffee and lunch with current MBA students

Essays

Examples of essay prompts previously used by Judge:

    1. Describe yourself. What are you strengths and how do you utilize them? What attributes would you like to improve upon and why?
    2. Describe your leadership style. Tell us about a project, task or experience where you had to motivate and direct individuals or a team. Were you successful, and if so, why? If not, what did you learn about yourself?
    3. Why is the Cambridge MBA the right programme for you? Which aspects will contribute the most to your learning experience? What unique experience and/or personal attributes will you contribute to the learning experience of your classmates?

Thank you very much for your help throughout this long and arduous process. I submitted my last three applications this week. In sum, I applied to G-town, GW, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, and NYU. I guess all I can do now is wait it out and hope for the best. Nevertheless, I am extremely satisfied with the final product. I like to consider myself an extremely humble person and even I think that at the very least, my packets will get a second look from the various admissions committees. Again, thank you very much and I'll be in touch once I hear anything.
