Rotterdam MBA Program Highlights

The full-time MBA program begins with an optional refresher course on math and statistics, followed by core coursework, specialization in a particular area of interest, an internship, and electives. Students may spend the final semester at one of 30 partner schools, such as INCAE in San Jose, Costa Rica; the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, South Africa; and the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India. A one-year Personal Leadership Development Program runs concurrent to the regular coursework.

Pragmatic Orientation

Rotterdam Business School has opted for the Action Learning principle in its MBA programme: Learning from one’s own experiences, truly learning as a manager by experimenting with the knowledge that is provided; not only by lecturers and sparring partners from the business world, but also by fellow students. That is what Action Learning is all about.

Program

The program aims at an integrated approach of the themes Business, People and Technology. The core modules provide a broad understanding of the themes that affect the external environment of an organization (Business), the internal organization (People) and the influence exerted by technological developments on organizations (Technology).

Thesis

The final thesis or graduation paper is the project in which several aspects of the MBA program are combined. Performing the research and writing the thesis should preferably take place in co-operation with the company in which your work. One could think of such things as diagnosing an organizational issue, formulating the research question, setting up a research plan and performing the research.
Finally the outcomes are analyzed and recommendations are drawn up for the organization. You defend your thesis in the presence of both lecturers and representatives of your own organization.
