Examples of essay prompts previously used by Leeds:

1. Discuss your career progression to date. Why do you want to pursue an MBA at this point in your career, and how will obtaining this degree from the Leeds School of Business help you to achieve your goals? (max. 500 words)
2. (option of Essay 2 or Creativity Challenge) Tell us about a decision that you made (either professional or personal) which you regret. Why do you regret this decision and how might you change your decision if you were faced with the same situation again? (max. 500 words)
3. Creativity Challenge: At Leeds we live and work in one of the most entrepreneurial communities in the country and we foster an environment where creative people spur economic growth and innovation. Creativity is one of the many factors in the admission process that helps us to select the brightest, most talented and diverse candidates each year. That being said, we would like to challenge your creativity.Please send us a sample of your creativity. This could be (but should in no way be limited to) one of the following: 

2.     a business idea 

3.     a marketing campaign 

4.     a creative solution to a problem 

5.     a photo (or series of photos) that depict your creativity 

6.     an essay that describes you at your most creative

The only restrictions (for now) are that it cannot be larger than 2 cubic feet (1 ft x 1ft x 2ft), no heavier than 50 pounds, and, if you upload (or send) a written document, no longer than 1,500 words. If you submit something other than a written work for your creativity challenge, you must also submit a description of not more than 500 words describing your submission.

Recommendations

You will need to provide references from two referees (one academic and one non-academic) with your application
